On a sunny August day thirty-nine years ago,
We peacefully stood on the Oakland Temple* gardens
Full of faith we gazed across the San Francisco Bay
Enjoying our family’s supporting presence around us
Years pass
We live in a small trailer while my husband finishes his degree
Four children join our family
We move into our home in Mapleton
and serve in the Church
Illness and Work
Hopes and Dreams
Struggles and Joys
Growing in Faith
We begin to accept each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and love
As we Trust in the Lord’s power to help us.
Sharing who we are with the other.
Helping to each reach their potential,
We feel a completeness
And our lives are filled with joy
*Temple is the sacred place where member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are married for all eternity
