Acquiring unnecessary possessions,
Maintaining high upkeep homes and yards,
Inefficiently running errands,
They fill their day as if activity alone
could give meaning to their lives.
And even though they have wandered
off the path to their avowed goals,
they feel a smug satisfaction
in the tremendous time they are making.
