Metro areas engulfing the land
Helpful, good people guiding us
Hardened, hopeless workers surviving
Elegant mountainside mansions
Rundown inner city houses
The quiet stillness of the saguaro desert
The frantic rushing of Phoenix, and Tucson
Pondering ancient ruins
Navigating through city streets
Leisurely walking quiet nature paths
Tensely driving down a steep mountain
Parks nurturing a love of beauty,
respect for the land,
and hope for the future
Dams impressively huge and strong
Vermilion bluffs, deep blue reservoirs
Tenacious cactuses filling the land
cholla, saguaro, and prickly pear
Providing home and food for
coyotes, roadrunners, lizards, and deer
Life in the severely beautiful land
of the Arizona desert
