by Cheryl Merrick
You
left England
searching
for religious freedom.
Several
sailed on the Mayflower.
Some
settled in Puritan Massachusetts,
and
others as Quakers in Pennsylvania.
You
were one third of the signers of both
the
Declaration of Independence
and
the Constitution of the United States.
When
the Gospel was restored
to
the earth in 1830,
you
were waiting,
and
embraced it with joy.
You
helped lead the Church,
and
guide pioneers west
to
settle Zion.
Generations
later, I found,
and
am following,
your
path.
