Cool sweater mornings
Squash yellowing beneath wilting vines
Birds feasting on orange berries
Leaves tinging red
Rainy afternoons whispering
Fall is coming
Trees silhouetted against
a glowing golden sky
as darkness envelops
the once bright summer evening
and crickets sing their last song--
