Secure

Despising a feeling
     of inadequacy,
the man avoids,
     and denies, any area
where he isn’t strong.

Desperately craving
     a sense of competency,
This man attempts to create
     his own secure world.


He strives to make
     his logical world out of
    endless, sequenced details.
It is a sterile world bereft of
     unpredictable change,
     mystifying feelings,
     or incomprehensible whole pictures.

Hiding in his safe,
     one dimensional world,
he attempts to express his love
     though some set sequence
     of actions or words,
sharing all but his heart.
