When we see beyond our endless list of wants,
and marvel how bountifully our basic needs are met;
When we no longer squander our time and energies
in acquiring superfluous things,
but focus instead on eternal relationships;
When our homes evolve beyond
mere places to display acquisitions,
and become temples filled with the peace
and love of the Gospel;
When we progress beyond just doing
what we are “supposed to do”,
to becoming who we are meant to be;
When we look beyond momentary concerns
and see clearly eternal goals;
When we appreciate the simple things all around us,
and enjoy our gifts of time, family, health, and freedom;
Then we will know Gratitude.
